I'm wondering how many Centers in MASC are using the MySeniorCenter software for data tracking?  We had one installed this summer and could use some dialog with others who are using it.

Lorisue:  Monroe Center purchased MySeniorCenter in 2006 and we have been very disappointed in the service as MySeniorCenter, in our experience,  is not proactive on being service oriented.  For example, we have a need to change coding and while promised that this is something they could do, we have made repeated follow up calls have yet to be successful as MySeniorCenter is long on promise and short on delivery.  I was also told prior to purchasing the system that it would be compatible with our PeerPlace software (the county provided the PeerPlace system to account for the senior millage funding) that tracks units of service for programs and activities.  This was not true and results in duplication of data collection and double data entry that is very time consuming.  We are currently looking for a better system that will interface with PeerPlace.  My opinion is that MySeniorCenter system at present is limited but has a lot of potential that has never been developed.  Before I would recommend the system to anyone considering it I would ask them to make sure that they understood exactly what data they needed to colllect and visit others with the system for a first hand review before purchase...aaron

Compare Myseniorcenter to SSAID.com, SSAID is a web-based senior center tracking system developed by senior centers for senior centers.  SSAID has no upfront costs, unless data conversion is required, no hardware purchases.  All you need is high speed internet.  The following Services included for one price based on number of clients, Home Delivered Meals, Recreation, Supportive Services, Benefactor (Fund Raising Tracking), Volunteers, Transportation, Congregate Meals, Membership. And new services are added as needed.  SSAID starts at $100 per month based on 1000 clients or less and goes up from here.  SSAID uses touch screens, client bar coded cards.  SSAID will assists senior centers in what to purchase if wanting to use the touch screen and bar code cards.
SSAID has been in use by senior centers since 2004. A great product and very user friendly, and very inexpensive.
Go to the website www.ssaid.com and ask for a demo. Great customer support 24x7. SSAID is growing in the senior center environment very fast.

I am very frustrated with MySeniorCenter - i see so much potential and was wondering if I was just missing something that was working for others or if as I suspect it is a flawed system.  I was hoping to get some insight for those it was working for on how to make it more effective.  How do log in "off-site" events, how to handle membership renewals and a hundred other questions that come up every day.  the system is down more than it should be so the seniors are discouraged - i've had it since May and i have yet to give up my antiquated paper system for fear of losing data.

It would be a good topic to have as a program at the MASC Conference in the future.  Have MySeniorCenter representative that we could discuss changes we would like in the program.
